Hi Sarah, thank you so much for your reply! Although tarot cards can be interpreted in many different ways—depending on the situation, the question, or the position—I believe the origin of this card points to the balance between giving and receiving. On a deeper level, it’s about the encouragement to shift your attention between the unconscious (the man in the blue robe) and the conscious (the man in the yellow robe). It’s a process unfolding within yourself, not necessarily from the outside. But you make a very good point when it comes to the more mundane meaning: do you give from the heart, or do you give only because it’s “expected”?]]></description>
